Nursing Home Seva

What: Nursing Home Seva (Service).
When: 2:00-3:00pm, Third Saturday of each month.
Where: Residence for Renal Care, Shadyside, 5511 Baum Blvd, Pittsburgh, PA 15232
Why: "Manav seva is Madhav seva" -- Sri Satya Sai Baba; the English transalation is "Service to mankind is Service to the Lord".


Description:
This seva involves visiting the patients - talking and listening to them, distributing small gifts that devotees contribute, singing Carols during Christmas visit - in other words, the effort and hope is to bring Swami's love to them. Majority of the residents are on dialysis and some of them have been at this facility for years! From a spiritual perpective, the service described above affords an opporunity to exercise the basic human value of Love in the form of sharing and caring for our fellow human beings.
